This could be the long time Mac user in me, but I naively assumed that the auto correct preference in settings would be something close to system wide in Windows 10, which apparently, it is not. Does it only work in certain Win apps? Perhaps only the office suite, or only apps like Xbox, Store, etc.

Spellcheck seems to work fine, system wide, just not autocorrect. Would be awfully nice to have it in Mail, Chrome, Notepad, etc. Should I be looking for solutions, or is this just how it is on a Win machine?
