Office Starter Microsoft also has several versions of Office “subscription plans” available There are SO many different plans available I seem to discover another one I’d never heard of before every time I look.

Be careful though, and do your research early and thoroughly. Not all plans include all of the applications. Some plans allow you to install Office on multiple PC’s. AND IMO they don’t seem to make it easy to switch or upgrade plans, especially if you go with the “yearly” option.

One thing that I DO really like about Office is that you’re guaranteed to always have the latest version of the desktop apps for as long as you continue to subscribe.

Click to Run is installed as part of Office that was bought as an online download.

I didn’t purchase the Office product, it came preinstalled on my laptop. I don’t have a product key at all. All I have is a key from the Microsoft label on the underside of my laptop which isn’t the Microsoft Office Key however I still tried and failed to attempt your advised course of action and failed with this key.

I have a bad feeling I’m going to have to shell out for a new download of the latest software as I need the word and excel software for loads of documents I regularly access.

One thing that I DO really like about Office is that you’re guaranteed to always have the latest version of the desktop apps for as long as you continue to subscribe. So, doing the math Yes, when you format the HD and re-install Windows that is exactly what happens. Everything on the drive except Windows is gone. Now that you’ve nuked Office you have to re-install Office. To do that you need the 25 character Product Key. Or, if you are one of the lucky few, your Office license was associated with your email account.

So the first thing to try is to log in to the MyAccount site with your email address. If you can, then check the “Install” page to see if it shows that you have an Office license.

If it does, you can install Office directly from there. If your license wasn’t associated with your email, and you do have the 25 character product key you can download the required installation file.
