Hi Derek, thanks for this post. I still use Sony Vegas Platinum 11, since it is incredibly stable and I already know all the tricks I also feel lazy about the learning curve for other video editing programs. Setting it to 16 fixed the issue and it now renders 4K video as expected. Great you did solve it that way but to me this is new since it’s a ” maximum ” setting and not an ” exact number ” and should not prevent anything from working. If this now would have to be set to the ” exact number ” , this should be clearly pointed out to the users or set automatically by the software upon installation.
Same problem here. Rendering with CPU works but a 1 min test project takes 6’30”. I’m changing only the template bitrate but stock template gives the same error. This is an i7 with 16GB.
I got the latest nvidia drivers, dated July 23rd. It made no difference. I’m probably due for a new graphics card V16 no go either. Changing max threads made no difference. Neither did rebooting the computer – that used to be essential in the olden days!
Maybe their new Colour Grading is stealing our resources :D. Big help to previewing. But now VP16 works which it didnt do before.
I have the latest studio drivers. Stop rendering to. You are also using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11, which was only a 32 bit program, which means it can’t access and use all of your RAM. Also be careful with any Video FX you may have added. One particular Video Effect is a real memory hog – if you have added the Sharpening Tool, don’t overdo it.
Setting this effect too high, will cause a memory overload! Both of these formats use far less memory and RAM when encoding.
Also make sure you do not have any other programs running at the same time when rendering with Vegas. I would also recommend you re-boot your computer before rendering. Re-boot will clear your RAM – just don’t open and use any other programs before you start rendering.
Regards Derek. Replied by Liz on topic “System Low on Memory” error message!! Posted 17 Nov 3. Thank you. I’ve tried the AVC format before and I disliked what my video looked like. I will try to install later. This is strange because I never had an error before, and now my Vegas is displaying this error message even after I close everything else in my computer.
Maybe a reboot will solve it but it’s annoying. Never happened before and all of the sudden it happens. I often re-boot a couple of times a day when working on large and complex projects. If you are still experiencing problems, it may be particular to the current project you are working on.
I also recommend resetting the program and deleting the temp files cache. This often fixes strange problems that happen out of the blue. Window will pop up. Select Delete Cache and Yes. This will restore program to Factory Default Settings. I beg to differ, but the issue with the low memory has NOT been fixed with version I just attempted to render a movie and received the low memory error. I spent the money to upgrade from 11 to 12 specifically to overcome this problem, but it looks like it was money not well spent.
Slow down a bit. Sounds like you have something else going on. Video Editing programs mixed with different types of computers can cause a multitude of un-expected problems.
